What is humane technology?

Technology is often designed to generate profits at the expense of human wellbeing, dignity and societal cohesion. Humane technology is technology that is designed to align with human needs and desires, to operate for the common good and to allow human sophistication to express itself fully, instead of being systematically stifled.
More broadly, humane technology is an ideal that seeks to question the principles on which a technology is built, and imagine what it could look like if it was built instead on humane principles.
